My Car May Never Run Again

evevictus :
What have you been up to>
VosskMBH:
Braving four feet of flooding to push people's cars out of danger.
VosskMBH:
And babies. Sometimes babies.
evevictus:
Haha, that seems like a lot of work.
VosskMBH:
It was kind of fun. I'll tell you the whole story.
So it's Friday night, and we are heading to the beaches. Myself and four others. The rain is so bad we can barely see in front of us. The road is nothing but grey mist.
So before we know it, we're shooting water from our tires and soon it stops. I can't see. When we stop at a red light, I realize what's wrong: We're in about four feet of water.
VosskMBH:
So I immediantly pull into the nearest parking lot because I stopped my car in water. It's fucked.
It stalls on the way up the ramp. We sit there for a few seconds in shock, but we get out and push it up this steep ramp. It was crazy. I was completely soaked afterward.
We go into Waffle House and a few minutes later see people stalling on their way into the parking lot, so I'm running back into the water pushing their cars.
evevictus:
Wait, this really happened? i thought you were joking at first.
VosskMBH:
No, completely serious.
evevictus:
Where do you live again?
VosskMBH:
Jacksonville, Northeast Florida.
Apparently last time that happened was 94.
evevictus:
When was this?
Yesterday, or a wekk ago, or when?
VosskMBH:
So anyways, I push about four cars in the Publix and Waffle House parking lots. It was an adrenaline rush. By the end of the night when we got a ride from a truck, I had pushed thirteen to high ground and removed two children from flooding cars.
Last night.
